Defensive Pistol 2 “No Limit Pistol”

This course’s main focus is performance on demand. When students look to attend a shooting class, they’ll typically find the course falls under one of two ideologies: Tactical/Defensive Shooting, or Competition/Performance Shooting. In reality what this course is showing, is that shooting IS shooting. Tactics will be applied based on situation & terrain, but the physical act of pressing the trigger & displaying a high degree of both speed and accuracy remains true regardless of which camp you belong too.

Prerequisites:

  • Successful completion of Defensive Pistol 1

Students can expect a high repetition count on presentations, draws, reloads, target transitions & movement. Efficiency is paramount in the path to becoming a well-rounded shooter. Whether you strictly shoot to be better prepared in a defensive engagement, or you race against a shot timer for the challenge, you will gain value from this course. This is not an entry level or beginner course.

**This course curriculum has been approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board “ILETSB” & North East Multi-Regional Training “NEMRT”. However, since the course is being hosted at a private range & not hosted by the state, you will NOT receive a ILETSB or NEMRT Course Certificate. The course mirrors that of the state approved curriculum and an FSS Training Course Certificate will be issue upon completion.

Required Equipment:

  • Pistol

  • Kydex outside or inside the waistband holster

  • At least 3 magazines (more if low capacity)

  • Mag carrier for 2 mags

  • 500 rounds of ammo (or bring what you can & scale back round count per drill as necessary)

  • Sturdy belt

  • Eye and ear protection

  • Brimmed Hat

  • Weather appropriate clothing (rain, sleet or snow we’re training)

  • Water, lunch, snacks. We will do a working lunch on the range

Suggested Equipment:

  • Spare pistol

  • Individual First Aid Kit “IFAK”

  • Sunscreen

  • Note pad & pen

*A range fee of $25, separate from the registration cost, is required in cash the morning of your class. All other fees and target costs are included with registration cost. Please reach out if you have any questions.
